What Major In College Is Suitable To Be In Advertising Sales?
Sometime in our life, we are asked what we want to become when we grew up and have a job. Some of us dreamed to be a scientist, an astronaut, a doctor, or even going to the circus. As we grow older, we tend to become something simpler like a businessman or even an advertising sales agent. We tend to think what that means and what college major should I choose if I want to be one. Will it help us sell stuff or advertise the company or even get us famous? There are so many majors in college that we might have no idea on which one we would want to choose.
One major you could take up is sales. This major could not only help you by selling a product but also by selling yourself. No, it is not like the women you see on the streets that sell themselves for pleasure. Instead, what is meant by selling yourself to a company is that you yourself should learn how to present yourself by how you speak, how you dress, how you appear, and even simply how you smile. Of course, you do not want to advertise something that is rotten of something that has little value.
Another major you can take up is advertising. This course is a mode of communication that has the intention to convince people, whether by television, radio, or print, to buy or become interested in a products or service that you are selling. Learning about advertising can also help you to interconnect an idea to the majority of people that you are selling to in an effort to prove to them to obtain a certain action that can be of use to them. However, you need to possess special skill in order to become a good advertiser. On the bright side, your skills would mainly depend on the revolution in technology, such as beepers to cell-phones, typewriters to computers, telephones to video conferences, etc.
Though there are many types of advertising such as infomercials, television advertising, radio advertising, and even online advertising, I believe that the best way to advertise a product is still simply personal advertising wherein the advertising sales agent could give a more personal touch to the product he or she is selling the customer. Though they can use the help of technology such as video and audio, it will still be their approach to their customer that counts and how well he or she can sell a product. I believe that having a major in advertising get easily get you through if you have plans to become an advertising sales agent in the future.
In the end, no matter which college major you choose or which college you go to become an advertising sales agent, it will still depend on the person whether they make every effort in the field or not. I firmly have no doubt in mind that in the end it will still come down to hard work and determination to excel to get a good job, to be happy and fulfilled in life, and to have a happy retirement.
